Fire badly damages Society Hill condominium complex in Bernards Township

A large fire has badly damaged a condominium complex in Bernards Township.

The fire at the Society Hill complex on Woodward Lane started around 2 p.m. Monday.

At least four units were destroyed and several more suffered bad damage.

All of the residents were able to escape without injury, according to officials.

News 12 New Jersey has heard that one firefighter may have been injured when parts of the building collapsed, but the extent of those injuries was not immediately known.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control about 90 minutes after it started.

The American Red Cross is helping five families who were displaced by the fire. The organization will be providing them temporary shelter, plus food and clothing.
