Woman dies after being struck by train near Maplewood station

Authorities say a woman has died after being hit by a train near the Maplewood station.

They say it happened around 10 p.m. Saturday as the train was heading to New York's Penn Station.

Officials say none of the train's 175 passengers and crew were injured.

It's unclear what the woman was doing on the tracks.

Service on NJ Transit Morris and Essex lines was suspended for nearly two hours but has since been restored.
