Woman missing for more than a week found in woods
A Franklin Borough woman who was reported missing more than a week ago has been found alive in a wooded area of Sussex County.
News 12 is told that 26-year-old Tammy Kim was located in the woods in Ogdensburg near Yurchak Road early Saturday morning. She was taken to the hospital to be examined.
She was found by a hunter in the woods, but it's still unclear how she wound up there.
As News 12 has reported, Kim had last been seen Sept. 1 at the Starbucks on Route 23 in Franklin Borough. Her father had dropped her off and was supposed to pick her up there a few hours later.
Kim was seen on surveillance video at several businesses in the area, and her cellphone and laptop were later found a few miles away at a vacant building.
Kim's mother had said that her daughter suffers from several health issues and recently changed medication. The mother had said she was worried that Kim had become disoriented and collapsed in the woods.
Kim's disappearance set off an intensive search effort by Franklin Borough police and New Jersey State Police that included an aerial search.
Kim's family released a statement that says, "We are extremely happy and relieved to announce that Tammy was found alive this morning by a hunter, thanks to the hunting season that began today... We are grateful for the law enforcement, family, friends and volunteers who helped search for our daughter over the past 10 days. We ask for privacy and continued prayers as Tammy continues to slowly recover."
