NJ college professor Robert Berardo charged for child pornography

A New Jersey college professor was arrested and charged with child pornography-related offenses, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

Robert Berardo is an adjunct professor at Middlesex County College and Raritan Valley College who lives in Aberdeen. Authorities say that Berardo also coached teams in the Aberdeen/Matawan Recreation girls' softball league.

Berardo is facing charges that include possession of child pornography and attempting to distribute child pornography.

Investigators believe that there may be additional victims and ask that anyone who might have any information about Berardo's activities is asked to contact the prosecutor's office.

Berardo is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $110,000 bail.
