5 face weapons charges in deadly shootout on Atlantic City Expressway
State police say four men and a teenager have been charged in a highway shootout that left another man dead and four of the suspects wounded.
Rosemond Octavius, a 22-year-old Egg Harbor Township resident, was killed Monday afternoon in the shootout on the Atlantic City Expressway in Egg Harbor Township.
Authorities say Octavius was a passenger in a car driven by 24-year-old Anthony Hicks, of Mays Landing. Hicks wasn't injured but faces weapons charges that were announced Tuesday.
Three men and a 16-year-old in an SUV also were wounded. They all face weapons charges. It's unclear if any of the defendants has an attorney who could comment on the accusations.
State police believed that a black pickup truck was also involved in the shootout. They were eventually able to find the truck, but say that no additional arrests were made.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the State Police Atlantic City Expressway Station at 609-965-7200.
