Police seek public’s help finding missing Edison resident Thomas Roach
The Edison Police Department is asking for the public's help finding township resident Thomas Roach, who has been missing since July.
Police say the 52-year-old contacted his family on June 2 and told him that he planned to check himself into a substance abuse rehabilitation program. Roach is believed to be addicted to alcohol and oxycodone.
Roach was last seen on July 10 when he was discharged from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerville. Police say his car with his personal belongings were found in the hospital's parking lot.
Roach is described by police as a white man with a fair complexion and brown, graying hair. He has blue eyes and is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall.
Police said Roach, an amateur sportsman, owns a registered Bauer .25-caliber handgun, but they do not know if he had the weapon with him when he went missing.
Roach's family has started a Facebook page seeking help in the search for their loved one.
Anyone who might have more information is asked to call Edison Police Detective Jeff Tierney at 732-261-3188 or email jtierney@edisonpd.org.
