Families displaced after car crashes into Paterson apartment building
Four families were displaced after a car barreled into their Paterson apartment building.
Police say that the crash happened Wednesday afternoon on Redwood Avenue. Investigators believe the driver of the Silver Toyota SUV accelerated by mistake, and crashed into the front of the building.
Paterson Fire Department Deputy Chief William Henderson says that people were inside the building at the time of the crash and were safely evacuated.
Building inspectors will have to make sure the building is secure before the families can move back in.
No one, including the driver of the SUV, was hurt.
