Forecast: Thunderstorms expected tonight

New Jersey residents saw some lightning and thunderstorms Tuesday evening.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that storms should have only affected the northern and western areas of the state.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for a majority of the state Tuesday. Temperatures felt as if they were above 100 due to the humidity.

Overnight temperatures are expected to cool into the mid-70s.

Wednesday is expected to see a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures may reach the low-90s.

Thursday is expected to see mostly sunny skies, but a thunderstorm is possible later in the day. High temperatures could reach the low-90s.
