Teen wounded in Jersey City church hall shooting remains in hospital
Authorities say one of the two girls shot at a Jersey City church hall this week remains hospitalized in stable condition.
Police say the shooting Tuesday night left the target, 17-year-old Leander Williams, dead from a gunshot wound to the head.
A 16-year-old girl was treated and released from the hospital Wednesday.
Ray Worrall, a spokesman for prosecutors in Hudson County, told The Jersey Journal that a 12-year-old found at a nearby restaurant suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body remained hospitalized Thursday.
No arrests have been made in the shooting.
Jersey City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill says police do not think the church shooting was connected to five different shootings that took place over a six-hour span in the same area.
