Newark water main break causes partial street collapse

A water main break has caused a partial street collapse in Newark.
The pipe broke after 3 a.m. Tuesday and undermined South Street between Jefferson and Pacific streets.
Eastbound lanes are open to traffic, but the westbound lanes between Jefferson and Pacific remain closed.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and buses that travel along South Street will face delays.
Newark police will be at some intersections in the area to help with the flow of traffic.
Repairs are expected to be finished Tuesday evening.
