A 25-year-old man was found dead outside a home in Union Township.

According to Prosecutor Grace Park, police were called to a home on the 800 block of Salem Road around 5 a.m. Tuesday. They found the body of Matthew Murrel, of Maplewood, in the yard.

Investigators did not release many details about the killing, but say that they are treating it as a homicide.

Union County Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment. Anyone who might have any information about the killing is asked to call Homicide Task Force Sgt. Johnny Ho at 908-403-8271 or Detective Rudolfo Correia at 908-418-5800.
