Officials warn of firework risks amid July Fourth celebrations

Along with Fourth of July festivities planned throughout New Jersey comes the reminder to steer clear of illegal fireworks.
Inside Central Park in New York City Sunday, police say a 19-year-old man from Virginia severely damaged his foot after an apparent explosion where fireworks are suspected. The use of fireworks has not been confirmed by police, but New York Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted about the incident and warned about illegal fireworks.
Police say that in New Jersey last year, there were more than 10,000 incidents involving fireworks.
