Popular parks to close for safety during firework shows

Popular parks in West New York and Weehawken will be closed during firework displays on the Fourth of July due to safety concerns.
The waterfront parks in Weehawken and West New York will be closed at 6 p.m. Monday.
Police in West New York posted signs along the waterfront warning residents that Port Imperial Boulevard will be closed to ensure the safety of residents.
Streets by the waterfront park in Weehawken will be closed starting at 4 p.m.
The parks are popular destinations for people to try to catch a glimpse of the Macy's Fourth of July fireworks.
The fireworks display is on the East River again this year. The last time it was shown on the Hudson River was 2013.
