Cleanup crews were back at a Woodbridge condominium Wednesday working to rescue several dozen cats that were found inside one of the units.
Authorities say that 70 cats have been found inside one of the units in the Harrows Gate condominium complex in the Iselin section of town, and they believe that there may be even more inside.
A dumpster was brought to the parking lot of the complex so that hazmat crews could start throwing out all of the trash that was also pulled from the unit.
Representatives from the NJSPCA say that some of the cats were living in the walls, the attic and the rafters of the condo. At least seven of the cats were found dead.
The cats' owner told News 12 New Jersey that he never meant for this to happen and things got out of control.
The animals are being cared for by the Woodbridge Animal Group. The organization is asking for donations of food and cleaning products to help with the abundance of rescued animals.
