Authorities seek help identifying witnesses of fatal hit-and-run in Verona

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is hoping the public can help identify several people who may have witnessed a fatal hit-and-run in Verona on Friday, June 24.
Officials have released photographs of the crash scene that show several people. They believe that the people in the photos witnessed the accident and wish to speak with them.
According to the prosecutor, Verona resident MatthewBeneduce McGrath, 59, was crossing Bloomfield Avenue near Hillcrest Terrace when he was struck by a vehicle. He was taken to University Hospital, but died about a half-hour later.
