Reward offered for information about slaying of Newark Animal Control Officer Alvis Carrington

Officials in Essex County are offering a $10,000 reward for information about the slaying of a Newark Animal Control officer.
Alvis Carrington, 43, was shot in front of 239 Wainwright Street in Newark around 11:48 p.m. on May 21. He was taken to University Hospital where he died.
Carrington worked for the Newark branch of the Associated Humane Societies for 16 years.
The Essex County Sheriff Office's Crime Stoppers Program is offering the reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
