Firefighters rescue 2 from Jersey City house fire

Firefighters rescued two people late Thursday morning who were trapped inside a burning home in Jersey City.

The fire broke out in a three-story multi-family home on St. Paul's Avenue near Central Avenue.

Two 25-year-old men living on the third floor were sleeping when the flames erupted. They were able to reach a balcony where firefighters used ladders to rescue the men.

A firefighter suffered a cut to his face, but was treated and released. The two men living in the home were uninjured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
