4 men armed with gun, machete rob Nickymania convenience store in Paterson
The Paterson Police Department is hoping the public can help identify four men wanted for allegedly robbing a convenience store in Paterson last month.
The violent robbery at the Nickymania store at 136 Fourth Ave. was recorded on the shop's surveillance camera. In the video, four young Hispanic men are seen entering the store just after 8:30 p.m. on May 26.
One of the suspects is seen holding the door open while the other three walk inside. Another member of the group then grabs one of the employees working behind the counter and points a handgun in his face. A third man then pulls out a machete and begins waving it around.
The employees give the men the money in the cash register. One of the suspects also grabbed a safe that was on display in the store. However, a spokesperson for the Paterson Police Department says the safe was empty.
The four men fled the store and got into what appeared to be a dark-colored Audi station wagon.
Paterson Police Spokesman Capt. Heriberto Rodriguez says that the men should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone who might have any information about the crime is asked to contact the Paterson Police Department at 973-321-1120 or 973-523-TIPS.
