Closing arguments heard in Millburn ‘nanny cam’ attack trial

Closing arguments were heard Thursday in the case of a beating captured on a nanny cam.

Shawn Custis is accused of brutally beating a mother after breaking into her Millburn home. He is charged with attempted murder and six other offenses.

Prosecutors say that there is no mistaking that the man in the video is Custis. A number of Custis' former girlfriends have even identified him as the man in the video.

Custis has always maintained that he is not the man in the video. His defense attorney says that the case was investigated by racist police officers who planted blood evidence to make Custis look guilty without trying to track down the real intruder.

The jury is expected to begin deliberations Tuesday.
