New Jersey residents welcome warm weather

As the temperature reached the upper-80s, New Jersey residents from high school seniors to adults soaked in the sun at the beach in Belmar.

Students who participated in senior cut day were at the beach Wednesday. Student Linda Rizzo said she and her friends had fun hanging out and tanning. Student Julia Yuson said she had her parents' permission to enjoy the day away from school.

Families, including children, also packed the shores, but the temperature in the ocean hovered in the 50s.

The warm weather and clear skies were welcomed by many people after an extended period of chilly weather this spring.

The day's low was expected to be in the 60s.
