Woodbridge police have arrested a man accused of stabbing two people in Old Bridge before barricading himself inside his home.
The Middlesex County prosecutor says Rodney Jencsik allegedly stabbed Dina Marie Heil and another man before fleeing to Woodbridge. Heil was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other man, whose identity has not been released, is still alive.
Jencsik then allegedly barricaded himself inside his home on Freddie Avenue in Woodbridge. Police were called to the home, but Jencsik would not come out. The standoff lasted for several hours. Jencsik was eventually shot two times by officers and taken into custody. Police believe he was alone in the house.
He is at the hospital to be treated for his injuries and is facing charges. The relationship between Jencsik and the two people stabbed in Old Bridge is unclear at this time.
