The family of a Bridgeport woman who was fatally struck by a driver with drugs in her system is demanding justice nearly two years following the crash.

Marie Tufaro, of Trumbull, lost control of her car and crashed into 50-year-old Shylane Crooks in December 2017 on Huntington Turnpike.

Tufaro had drugs in her system at the time of the accident, including oxycodone, and pleaded guilty to multiple charges in the case.

Carlton Crooks, 35, tells News 12 Connecticut that he wants Tufaro to get the maximum sentence for killing his mother.

He says the details of the sentencing, scheduled for next month, are not being released to the public, but he wants Tufaro to pay "an appropriate price" for what she did.

Police Chief AJ Perez says nobody wins in this case since both families have been left devastated.
