Shelter-in-place order temporarily issued for part of Edison has been lifted

A temporary shelter-in-place order following a possible toxic spill in Edison has been lifted.

A temporary shelter-in-place order following a possible toxic spill in Edison has been lifted.
News 12 was told that the spill may have created a chemical cloud in the area of Meadow Road.
According to a release from Edison Township, the Edison Fire Department and Police Department now advise that the situation on Meadow Road is over and deemed safe by local and state officials on the scene. 
Residents no longer need to shelter in place and can open their doors, windows and use their air conditioners, according to the release. 
Emergency vehicles will remain on the scene to ensure safety.
