A service was held Sunday in Wayne for a New Jersey native killed in the line of duty in Florida.
Adam Jobbers-Miller worked for the Fort Myers Police Department. He was shot by a burglary suspect during a confrontation last month.
Jobbers-Miller spent a week in the hospital, eventually dying from his injuries.
He had worked for the department for three years.
Jobbers-Miller was born in Jersey City and grew up in Wayne, working as a firefighter for the town.
He was also a member of the Wayne Township Memorial First Aid Squad.
In lieu of flowers, his family is asking that memorial donations be made to the POL Fire Company 2 in Wayne.
