Senate race between Lance, Stender crucial and close
The Senate race in New Jersey?s 7th District between Sen. Leonard Lance (R) and challenger Linda Stender (D) could help win a Democratic majority in Congress.
Lance has held the seat for the last four terms. According to Time magazine, the race between Lance and Stender is one of the ?hottest races nationally? and a crucial battleground race in the country.
Former President Bill Clinton campaigned with Stender over the weekend.
The race remained close on Tuesday, with both candidates campaigning throughout the day. The race has been a nasty one, with many negative ads launched by both parties.
The 7th District includes parts of Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset and Union counties.
