School safety was the main topic of discussion at the state capitol.
Retired Enfield police Chief Carl Sferraza told lawmakers Connecticut needs a statewide policy on what types of doors, windows, locks, and cameras should be used.
He also suggested putting a security officer in every school.
The school security group is looking at possible new laws for next year's legislative session.
