Route 1 northbound in North Brunswick reopened Monday around 7:30 a.m. between Finnegan's Lane and Adams Lane after reports of a crash. Drivers were forced off the highway where traffic was backed up about a mile.

The crash happened around 3 a.m. and may have involved a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.

Police remained on the scene of the crash Monday morning. As traffic continues to clear up, drivers are advised to take Routes 27 and 130 and the Turnpike.
