Rivers Tabernacle Prayer House accommodates blind parishioners

Rivers Tabernacle Prayer House is a place where everyone can feel welcome and accommodated, including Pastor Jack Walker.
The pastor's story was first reported in the Mott Haven Herald. Pastor Walker, who has always had religion play a huge role in his life, was first elected as pastor for the church in 2018. Before then, he was a congregant who felt extra welcomed as a blind man.
“This is the most accommodating church I've found,” Walker said.
With a braille printer, the church provides braille ministry so that everyone can worship together.
“We can follow along with everybody else when we read out programs, bulletins, hymns, scriptures, anything else that we might need,” said Victor Andrews, a deacon in training.
