The Riverdale Minyan Congregation has been holding weekly sponsored pizza runs for different communities in need. This week they raised money to send 20 family sized pizzas to the emergency room doctors, nurses and first responders at Montefiore Medical Center.
The Riverdale Minyan was one of the communities first affected because of their many students studying at SAR, one of the first schools to close. Ever since congregants have been looking for ways to stay connected and support the greater Riverdale community, and “No one loves pizza like New Yorkers,” says Rabbi Dan Margulies.
The congregation, which has been ordering baked goods from Cafeccino Bakery for the past three years, is trying to help the local business stay afloat, while feeding those who are working tirelessly.
