Some residents in Norwood say the city's $39 million project to replace aging water pipes in the Bronx is causing parking issues.

Work began in 2016 and is expected to last until 2019.

The city is working to replace century-old cast iron water mains with new ones.

The city also plans to build new sidewalks and some roadways.

However, all the construction is causing issues for residents who park their cars on the street.

Roads like Jerome Avenue between Bainbridge Avenue and East 233rd Street, Jerome Avenue and East Gun Hill Road are all affected by the construction.

One man who lives in the area says parking his car has become an inconvenience and more than 25 parking spaces are affected. 

Feniosky Pena-Mora, commissioner of the DDC, says, "The installation of the essential infrastructure will increase the reliability of water service and provide much needed relief to residents in this community."

Residents say they are thankful work is being done, but also hope the city finds a solution for parking.
