Joe Giudice, the husband of "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice, will remain behind bars indefinitely.

Giudice, of Montville, was originally supposed to complete his 41-month prison sentence for fraud Thursday, but will instead be detained as he appeals his deportation, the New York Post reported.

He has a release date listed as "unknown" by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Giudice came from Italy with his parents when he was 1 years old.

Teresa has said she's staying in the U.S. with their four children if Giudice gets deported.

The government can deport anyone who isn't a citizen if they commit a crime.
