A report by a New Jersey watchdog group has found that Gov. Chris Christie spent nearly 80 percent of his state allowance to buy food items.

According to Mark Lagerkvist with New Jersey Watchdog, the governor spent $300,000 on food, alcohol and desserts since taking office.

The report found that during the 2010 and 2011 football seasons, Gov. Christie spent $82,594 on concessions at MetLife Stadium. The governor's office did not provide any receipts or records to the New Jersey Watchdog, but did provide them with a statement.

"The official nature and business purpose of the event remains the case regardless of whether the event is at the State House, Drumthwacket or a sporting venue," press secretary Kevin Roberts told the group.

The governor also spent over $90,000 at various New Jersey supermarkets over the years.

The report did find that the governor's food expenses decreased in 2013 after he had lap-band surgery.
