You can add Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s name to the list of elected officials calling to defund the NYPD. 
Ocasio-Cortez spoke with News 12’s Kurt Semder Tuesday and maintained her stance that the money could be better used elsewhere. 
"When we approach this conversation, with this conversation is all about is rebalancing are but your priorities to make sure that we're putting more money into schools need or criminalization in the first place that conversation is about is supporting and listen to the voice is on the ground then we need to put more money in schools and we need to rebalance our budget to make sure that it reflects what we want as a community,” said Ocasio-Cortez.
