A new poll finds New Jersey is getting more diverse ethnically, and an increasing number of people are comfortable with it.
The Monmouth University/NJ Press poll shows half of those surveyed say diversity is good for the state's quality of life. That's 7 points higher than in December 2010.
The number of people who said they have a negative view of diversity fell from 16 percent to 8 percent.
Nearly 3-in-4 New Jerseyans say it is important for people to have close friends who are a different race from them, according to the poll's results.
