Police say a traffic stop leads to a big drug bust in Westport.
It happened Thursday afternoon on Saugatuck Avenue near Duck Pond Road.
According to police, the two men arrested were initially pulled over for an improperly displayed registration plate.
Police say when they approached Abdullah Seifullah, 37, of Stamford, and Jerrod Smalls, 36, of Norwalk, they could smell marijuana coming from the car.
A K-9 was called in.
Police found a loaded handgun, nearly 50 methylone pills, 12 grams of marijuana, crack cocaine, a scale and cash inside the car.
The pair were taken into custody and are now facing drug and weapons charges, among others.
They will appear in court today if they don't post bond.
