Summertime is statistically the most violent time of the year in the city, so the NYPD is making some changes to its annual Summer All Out program.
This year, the program will include 70 additional officers on the streets -- bringing the total number of officers to 270.
The precincts receiving additional enforcement include: the 40th-42nd, the 44th in the Bronx, the 67th-75th and the 79th in Brooklyn.
Extra patrols start Thursday, three weeks earlier than usual.
It won't just be on the streets -- additional patrols will also be underground in the transit system.
