PISCATAWAY - Police are working to track down the gunman behind a Piscataway shooting that killed a 24-year-old man.
Prosecutors say the victim, identified as Henry Stevenson Jr., was found with multiple gunshot wounds outside his family's home on West Third Street.
Detectives haven't yet said what they believe provoked the shooting. Authorities have not yet identified the suspect, but initial police transmissions suggested a relative of Stevenson's is wanted.
In 2015, Stevenson Jr. and his younger brother, Jahmeel, were charged with attempted murder for the stabbing of a neighbhor. In that case, their father, Henry Stevenson Sr., was also charged with witness tampering.
Several neighbors say the family and activity at the Stevensons' home have been a nuisance for years, and that police have been to the home several times. They say that gunshots were heard there on more than one occasion.
Family members declined to speak to News 12 about the incident.
Officials say their investigation is continuing.
