Police: Man punches 17-year-old in the face, steals his bag in Sheepshead Bay
The hunt is on for a man police say robbed a 17-year-old boy in Sheepshead Bay last Thursday.
Police say it happened in front of 1787 East 16th St. around 2:30 p.m.
They say the teenager was walking when he was approached by a man who News 12 is told pretended to have a weapon and demanded his bag.
Police say the teen tried to stand his ground, refusing to give up his bag, but the suspect then punched him in the face multiple times.
News 12 is told the man then dumped the items out of the teen’s bag, before taking it and leaving the scene.
The 17-year-old was not seriously injured.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
