Police: Man forced granddaughter to steal purse
Police have identified a suspect in the Seaside Heights crime in which a man is seen forcing a child to steal from an arcade.
Police issued an arrest warrant Friday for 52-year-old Daniel Twomey. The incident, which was captured on video, occurred two weeks ago at Lucky Leo?s on the boardwalk. The Teaneck man is accused of pushing his 4-year-old granddaughter under a short-swinging door to the arcade to steal a worker?s purse.
Seaside Heights Police Captain Dave Szalkowski says they were led to the suspect by an anonymous phone call and the suspect's attempt to use the victim's ATM card.
If and when Twomey is caught, he will face charges of theft, endangering the welfare of a child and employing a child in the commission of a crime.
