Multiple people were sent to the hospital after a student brought a hazardous material to Glen Rock High School, police say.
Police say the student brought a substance called thallium from home. Thallium is typically used as a rodenticide and is readily available on the internet.
Authorities say the student had a medical reaction to the substance and was taken to the hospital. Five school staff members, a police officer and two EMTs who helped the student were also exposed to the substance and were sent to the hospital as a precaution.
Police say that none of the other students at the school were exposed and school was let out early around noon.
Authorities say that the student who brought the thallium to school did not intend any harm.
