The alleged incident occurred at the Exxon gas station on Route 21 at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday
Police say the rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was with his entourage talking with a group of fans when one of the entertainer's friends allegedly flashed a gun and demanded a man's money. DMX then allegedly snatched $3,200 out of one of the fan's hands and fled in a black Cadillac Escalade.
DMX had performed at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in downtown Newark on Saturday.
