Family and friends held a vigil at a Newark hospital for a girl who was shot at another candlelight vigil Saturday night.
Officials say four young women were shot and injured in Newark as people gathered to remember two teenagers who were killed in a car crash.
The family of one of the victims, 16-year-old Jayla Green, tell News 12 the teenager is hooked up to machine fighting for her life.
The shooting happened around 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of Bergen Street and Madison Avenue, where people were gathering to remember 17-year-old Quadre Robinson and 19-year-old Quayim Battle.
The other three victims are recovering in stable condition.
Police say they are following several leads in the shooting case. Mayor Ras Baraka says that these leads are being investigated "aggressively."
The Essex County Sheriff's Crime Stoppers program is offering a $50,000 reward for information on the shooting.
As News 12 has reported, Robinson and Battle died Friday after officials say they crashed while driving a stolen vehicle.
Authorities say the teenagers were driving a SUV when it went out of control and crashed into two light poles before slamming into the side of a house and flipping over Friday morning. The car then caught on fire.
The owner of the house the teenagers crashed into, Najee Johnson, called these incidents a tragedy.
Baraka said in a statement, "The shooting of four girls at a candlelight vigil was a cowardly act of hatred that pierced the hearts of all in our community. Our prayers go out to the four victims and their families. This is a time for our city and our families to come together, not to turn our pain and anger inward, but to love our community harder and work to bring the shooter to justice."
Baraka also encouraged anyone with information to come forward to police.
Green's family says the teenager is showing signs of progress and now has brain activity again.
The motive of the shooting is unknown at this time.
