Police officers conducting a welfare check at a residence in New Milford Saturday discovered two people dead.

Authorities say the officers found the bodies of a man and a woman at the residence on Myrtle Avenue after 4 p.m.

Police say an investigation is underway. The names of the two will not be released until their next of kin is notified, according to authorities.
