Another town at the Jersey Shore is at odds with a company directed to install 5G cell towers. At least four new poles have been erected in Point Pleasant Beach but will soon come back down.
Point Pleasant Beach Mayor Doug Vitale says that borough attorneys have notified Munisite – the company installing the towners – to take them down because they don’t fit the aesthetic previously agreed to. Munisite helps towns manage installation projects by creating the infrastructure to blend towers in with the surroundings.
A spokesperson for the company says the poles did comply with what was agreed to, but they are willing to work with the borough so that a solution can be found acceptable to both sides.
Attorneys for Point Pleasant Borough say the four poles will have to come down by Aug. 1.
