New Jersey ranks 10th in the nation in death rate when it comes to overdoses. The Clinton Foundation launched Narcan training in sober houses and treatment houses in all 50 states.
Training took place Wednesday night, and people in recovery received proper training.
The Garden State is also finally getting its Narcan allocation next week.
News 12 spoke with two overdose survivors, who say it’s important to get training in recovery.
"We're the face of Narcan,” says Heather Dartell. “Narcan has personally saved both of us. We would love to be able to be there for our fellow addicts in recovery. God forbid we are around someone who overdoses. Now we are better equipped to handle the situation and to save other people’s lives."
She says it's important to teach people early in recovery about Narcan -- so that they can save others.
