Parents: Heat broken at 2 Nutley schools
? Parents of children who go to two Nutley schools say their kids are sitting through classes with no heat.
The apparent heat problem comes amid a period of frigid outdoor temperatures. According to parents, the two affected schools are The Lincoln School and Washington Elementary School.
News 12 New Jersey?s Tony Caputo spoke with parents inside Washington Elementary who said the temperatures weren?t that bad. Those parents also said electric heaters were being brought in to help deal with the problem.
A person who answered the phone at The Lincoln School said there would be heat in that building, but did not elaborate if the normal heating system was functioning properly.
Parents say students from at least one of the schools were sent home with a letter urging parents to dress their children in layers. News 12 New Jersey has not yet seen a copy of that letter.
There has been no official word from school officials on the heating situation at either school.
