Old Post Road near Beach Road in Fairfield remains blocked off Tuesday after storms brought down a tree that snapped 9 utility poles.
Crews are working to clean up tree branches in the area but say power has been restored.
The incident happened Sunday around 2 p.m. and left tree limbs and wires on top of cars.
A few thousand residents in town were left without power but United Illuminating officials say power has fully been restored to the town as of Tuesday.

Town Hall on Old Post Road also lost power after the incident and was forced to close Monday but is expected to reopen today.
Police say Old Post Road is expected to be shut down until at least tonight.
