Officials say multiple people were injured and two dogs are dead after fire broke out at a Paterson home on Wednesday.
They say the incident occurred at 50 Madison Ave. just before 5:45 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, they found several people unconscious and two dogs were trapped on the third floor. The dogs were found dead when pulled from the house.
Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh said those evacuated included two adults, an 8-year-old and one infant. They were all taken to St. Joseph's University Medical Center for evaluation.
