Officials: 7 Trenton police members disciplined for altering payroll system

Trenton officials say the police members were suspected of manipulating their payroll records after taking vacation or sick time to make it appear as if they still had time off to use.

Seven members of the Trenton Police Department were suspended for altering the department’s payroll system in their favor, according to city officials. The group includes three captains, a lieutenant, a detective and two officers.
Trenton officials say the members were suspected of manipulating their payroll records after taking vacation or sick time to make it appear as if they still had time off to use.
Each member was found in violation of conduct unbecoming of a public employee. They were suspended for a different number of workdays. None were demoted.
