Police in Bayonne are investigating a crash that left two adults and two children injured.
Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis says that the four people were struck by a car Halloween night on Avenue C and 16th Street.
The crash happened just before 8 p.m.
Davis says the victims were taken to Jersey City Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Some messages posted on social media said that one of the children had died, but the mayor and Bayonne police urged the public not to spread unsubstantiated rumors.
Additional deals about the crash were not immediately available.
Witnesses are urged to call Bayonne police at 201-858-6900.
